Creating Cut Lines In Illustrator

Overview

When you have an object that you want to cut outline of with the Glowforge, you need to get that image updated.  These step will hopefully guide you in the right direction.

 

 

  1. Open the image in Adobe Illustrator
  2. Select the part of the object that you want the outline of
    1. Under Properties > Appearance
      1. Set Stroke at 1pt
        1. Align stroke to outside
      2. Set Fill to nothing
    2. If needed use the shape builder tool to make combined objects one
  3. Go to Object > Path > Outline Stroke
    1. It changes from a stroke to a fill on the right side, which is okay
  4. Select the entire image and Right click on the image
    1. Collect For Export
      1. As Single Asset
